Togo will launch a new fundraising operation on the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) regional government securities market on Friday, Aug. 7. The country's Treasury aims to raise CFA20 billion through an issuance of Treasury Bonds (Obligations Assimilables du Trésor, OAT).
According to the auction notice reviewed by Togo First, the offering includes two maturities: three years and five years. The bonds carry a nominal value of CFA10,000 each and offer fixed coupon rates of 6.15% for the three-year tranche and 6.35% for the five-year tranche.
The government will use the proceeds to finance the 2026 state budget, which totals CFA2,751.5 billion. Moreover, Togo plans to raise CFA463.5 billion on the WAEMU regional debt market during 2026 to cover part of its financing requirements.
Togo has already mobilized CFA263 billion on the regional financial market since the beginning of the 2026 fiscal year. Consequently, the country has achieved slightly more than 56% of its annual regional borrowing target of CFA463.5 billion, reflecting steady progress in the execution of its 2026 funding program.
